Opportunity captures the urgency of a single moment.

The figure wears a carnival costume in full color and motion elaborate, radiant, made for only one day. In many cities, including Calabar, carnival costume is worn once a year. If you miss that day, the costume waits. It becomes still, silent, and “useless” until the next cycle comes around.

This painting is about time that does not repeat on demand. Opportunity is not permanent. It arrives dressed, loud, and specific. You either step into it, or you watch it pass.

The body in costume stands at that threshold between preparation and performance, between waiting and becoming. The brilliance of the fabric says: be ready. Because some chances only come once a year.
